The junior section of the club is run separately from the mens and ladies section to allow boys and girls under the age of 18 to play in their own dedicated competitions. In 2010 there were 24+ competition days for all junior club members to enter, these included monthly medal and stableford competition (held between April and October) as well as 6 junior major competitions. The juniors also play in the Junior Penfold league which is a competition played between other Kent municipal golf courses.
There are currently approximately 20 boys and girls which play in the junior competitions. Juniors are also eligible to play in the mens and ladies competitions as long as they are accompanied by a adult member of the club. Many of our juniors have single figure handicaps and a few have aspired to playing for county and country. The course and facilities at Deangate Ridge Golf Club are run by Medway Council and the Club is run by its playing members.
The junior club annual membership fee is just £20 to join the club and green fees (the fee to play the course) are paid separately on a round per basis or £170 per annum (details are available from the Medway Council Web site www.deangateridge.co.uk
